You save every month they stay
Once they're a paying subscriber, 10% comes off your monthly price — again every month, for as long as they keep paying.
The discount is worked out from live subscriptions: it applies for each referral who is paid up that month, and stops for any who lapse or cancel. It never takes your bill below zero, and it is never paid out as cash.
